Welcome to my personal website!

I am a Professor of Mathematics at Heriot-Watt University, in Edinburgh, the beautiful capital of Scotland.

My work spans from the analysis to the numerical simulations of PDEs, linear and nonlinear, arising as models of physical phenomena. They include:

Boundary Values Problems

  •  The Unified Transform method for linear PDEs

Spectral Theory

  • Spectral analysis of linear differential operators

  • Revivals, and the Talbot effect for dispersive linear PDEs

Geophysical fluid dynamics

  • The semi-geostrophic system

ICMS has launched the new Mathematics for Humanity funding programme

I will hold a Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowship

(October 2023 - September 2024)

Quantisation effects in dispersive systems

I have been elected vice President of the European Mathematical Society for 2023-2025
